Insurance Information

Today’s amazingly advanced hearing aids may be small, but each instrument packs an incredible amount of technology into its tiny casing. More and more insurance companies now offer coverage for hearing loss treatment; however, many patients are still financially responsible for part or most of their hearing aid purchase.

Insurance Statement

Heard It Through The Grapevine Audiology, PC is proud to provide family-centered, holistic hearing healthcare. We are committed to providing you with the highest level of care, which is why we do more than a simple hearing screening. To get a full picture of your hearing needs, your provider will take the time to review your detailed medical history, as well as assess cognition, balance and your understanding of speech-in-noise. Our appointments run longer than a typical doctor’s visit and are priced according to the thoroughness of the care we provide. Patients who are a good match for our office are seeking a long-term, personal relationship with our team that is built on open communication and mutual respect.

As we are committed to evidence-based care and treatment of hearing loss, our standard of care may exceed what your health insurance plan considers “minimally medically necessary.” This means that your insurance may not cover all services or items that we provide and consider essential to your treatment. All insurance plans are different, and your health plan is an agreement between you and your insurer that you are responsible for selecting. We encourage patients to educate themselves on their individual insurance plan prior to scheduling their appointment. Entering a relationship with our practice means accepting that you are responsible for out-of-pocket costs of goods and services that are not covered by your insurance provider.

Our practice strives to provide an estimate of these costs prior to your visit. However, the ultimate cost of your appointment is based on your individual needs, the duration of the visit and any questions, concerns or need for additional services that may arise during your visit. Receiving a particular service or item from us during your appointment implies your agreement to pay for said service or item if it is not covered by your insurance. We appreciate your flexibility and understanding in this matter.

As we are a specialist office without a physician, some insurance policies require a referral from a primary care physician before they pay for any part of your appointment with us. Ensuring that you have a valid referral on file with us in a timely manner (at least 72 hours prior to your appointment) is your responsibility as a patient. We reserve the right to cancel these appointments if a referral is not provided, to protect the financial interests of both our patients and our practice. If you decide to proceed with an appointment without a referral, the full cost of that appointment becomes your sole responsibility and will not be covered or reimbursed by insurance later.

Our priority as a practice is building a relationship of mutual trust and respect with our patients. We know that financial matters can be a sensitive topic and ask for your patience, understanding, and trust as we work with you to find solutions that will improve your quality of life through better hearing.
